The Department of oral pathology and Microbiology is a branch of dentistry
that focuses on studying the causes, effects, and processes of oral disease. The department has state-of-the-art facilities including a museum for the student training program and a well-equipped diagnostic histopathology lab. The modern histopathological and microbiological lab is equipped with a semi-automatic microtome, penta head microscope with fluorescence. The department provides students with a comprehensive understanding of oral pathology and its role in oral healthcare. The faculty members at the department are well-versed in the latest research and techniques in oral pathology. They provide students with a strong foundation in studying oral diseases, including their causes, symptoms, and treatment. Students also have the opportunity to participate in research projects and present their findings at conferences and seminars. Students learn about dental anatomy, embryology, oral histology, pathology, microbiology, and forensic odontology. As per the latest NEP 2020 Guidelines, our department is responsible for assessing a total of 23 CGPA points in the overall BDS course covering oral histology, oral pathology, and forensic odontology.
