MID-COURSE IMPROVEMENT OF PERFORMANCE OF STUDENTS

JKKN Dental College & Hospital teaching and learning policies include midcourse improvement, which aids students in the faculty’s ongoing evaluation of their progress.

The mid-course improvement of students’ performance aims to guide them towards achieving a well-rounded, intellect-focused performance throughout their academic journey. By identifying their strengths, weaknesses, and areas needing improvement through regular evaluations, students are provided with a supportive learning environment.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. i) We aim to work together as a team of students, faculty, and parents to assess and give feedback on student performance.
  1. ii) We strive to assess and improve teaching methods to better meet the unique needs of each student.

iii) Our goal is to create an environment centered around students, enhancing their interests, capabilities, and skills throughout the academic year.

 

OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDED FOR STUDENTS FOR MIDCOURSE IMPROVEMENT OF PERFORMANCE IN THE EXAMINATIONS

The following opportunities are provided to the students for midcourse improvement of performance:

  • TIMELY ADMINISTRATION OF CIE: (PROPER AND ON-TIME ADMINISTRATION OF ONGOING INTERNAL EXAMINATION)

The college ensures that examinations schedules are prepared well in advance and communicated to students at the beginning of the academic year through the institutional website’s academic calendar. This practice allows students to stay informed about examination dates and prepare for them without unexpected surprises. Internal examinations are conducted rigorously following university directives and are regularly monitored for fairness, confidentiality,

 

and prevention of malpractice. Measures such as submitting sealed question paper envelopes to the controller of examination in advance and appointing invigilators for different subjects ensure strict adherence to examination rules.

  • ON TIME ASSESSMENT AND FEEDBACK:

The same faculty member will analyze answer sheets impartially for the same question. Within 7 working days, students will receive their grades. Feedback that is constructive will help students perform better on test days during distribution of answer sheets.

  • MAKE UP TEST AND ASSIGNMENTS:

In order to help them learn the material, make-up assignments are required for students who struggle academically.

  • REMEDIAL TEACHING SUPPORT:(CORRECTIVE EDUCATION AND SUPPORT)
  • Corrective actions combined with one-on-one instruction for slow learners.
  • Supplemental theory classes for remediation.
  • Using question banks to prepare students for exams.
  • Students get unlimited access to books during library hours.
  • Completely revise the sections that were covered in student lectures and group discussions.
  • Assistance and counseling provided for struggling students to improve performance.
  • Remedial education and senior student counseling.
