PERIODONTICS

The department of periodontics has ample infrastructure with well-established dental equipmentsand a good ambience. We have a separate section for undergraduates, postgraduates, staff room, PG common room, seminar room, library, sterilization room.

The department clinic is equipped with 43 dental chairs with attached scalar unit, laser, physio-dispenser, electro cautery, piezo-surgical unit.

About the speciality:

Periodontology or periodontics is the specialty of dentistry whichinvolves the study of supporting structures of teeth, as well as diseases and conditions that affect them. It is a speciality which focus on the regeneration of lost periodontal & peri-implant tissues along with the fixed replacement of missing tooth using dental implants.

 

We offer a wide range of periodontal therapy including: non-surgical treatments which includes scaling and root planing, bone and gum grafting surgery, regenerative procedures, dental crown lengthening, dental implants and pocket reduction procedures.

If left untreated, these conditions can lead to tooth loss and other serious health problems, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
