Quota is the least-explained part of dental admission and the part where families are most often misled. This page states plainly how it works, what it does not change, and what a fraudulent offer looks like.

Read the "NEET-UG required" row again. It is the single most misunderstood fact in dental admissions.
What management quota does NOT mean
Four corrections, stated directly because the misconceptions cause real harm.
1. It does not mean you can skip NEET. A valid NEET-UG score is required for BDS admission regardless of quota. Anyone telling you otherwise is either mistaken or lying.
2. It does not mean anyone can be admitted. Eligibility — the 10+2 subject combination and the minimum aggregate — is set by the programme and the regulator, not by the college. A candidate who does not meet it is not admissible under any quota.
3. It does not mean a lower standard of course. Management quota students sit in the same classes, do the same clinical work, take the same university examinations and receive the same degree.
4. It does not mean the process is informal. Management seats are filled as per rule, within the notified framework, with the same documentation and verification.
What it does mean: a different allotment path and a different fee band. That is the entire difference.
NRI quota
NRI quota seats are filled per the criteria notified for the year, and they require documentation establishing NRI status in addition to the standard eligibility.
Two things to be clear about:
NEET-UG is still required. NRI quota is not an exemption from the qualifying examination.
The documentation requirements are specific and are checked. Establishing eligibility for this quota is a documentary matter, not a discretionary one. Ask the admission office exactly what is required before assuming you qualify.

The fee framework
Fees for all quotas sit within an approved fee-fixation framework — they are approved, not simply announced by the college.
At JKKN Dental College & Hospital, under Management Quota:

MDS — Rs 8,50,000 per year

How to spot an admission fraud
This is the most important section on this page.
Walk away immediately if anyone:
Says you can get a BDS seat without NEET. You cannot. This is the clearest possible signal.
Guarantees a seat in a specific college. No agent controls an allotment.
Asks for a "donation", "capitation" or any payment outside the published fee structure. A legitimate institution charges its approved fee, issues a receipt, and puts the figure in writing.
Wants payment in cash, or to a personal account, or without a receipt.
Pressures you to decide today, or says "this seat will go by evening".
Will not put the fee in writing on institutional letterhead or through an official email address.
Asks you to hand over original certificates before a seat is formally confirmed through the proper process.
Claims a special relationship with a college's management that other candidates do not have.
What to do instead: contact the college's own admission office directly, using the contact details on its official website, and ask every question yourself. That is free, and it is the only version of the answer that is reliable.
If you have already paid someone: stop further payments, keep every record and message, and contact the college directly to check whether any of it is real before paying more.
The legitimate process, in full
Sit NEET-UG and obtain a valid score.
Confirm eligibility — 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, the required minimum aggregate, and the age requirement. See admission criteria.

Why families get misled on this
Understanding the mechanism helps you resist it.
The information gap is real. Quota structures genuinely are complicated, the rules change, and most families go through this once in a lifetime. That asymmetry is what an agent trades on.
The timing is deliberate. Fraudulent approaches cluster around counselling deadlines, when families are anxious and a "closing today" claim feels plausible.
The claim is always the same shape: access that other people do not have. Special relationships, an inside contact, a seat held back. There is no hidden channel — there is a published process, and a college's own admission office.
The tell is verifiability. A legitimate offer survives being checked with the college directly. A fraudulent one always has a reason why you should not check, or not yet.
The single sentence worth remembering: if the answer to "can I confirm this with the college's official admission office?" is anything other than an immediate yes, stop.
Questions to ask the admission office
Ask directly, and get the answers in writing:
Which quotas are available for this programme this year?
What is the approved fee for each, per year and in total?
What is included, and what will I pay separately — hostel, mess, instruments, materials?
What is the payment schedule?
What is the refund position if I surrender the seat?
What documents are required, and by when?
An institution that answers all six in writing is one you can plan around.
What to verify about the college itself
Quota is only half the decision. Also verify:
Current DCI recognition for the programme.
Current university affiliation.
Patient volume in the teaching hospital — dentistry is learned on patients.
Placement figures with a year attached.
