### **Job Description – Senior Lecturer – Physiology**

### **Job Purpose**
The Senior Lecturer – Physiology will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and practical learning in Human Physiology to dental students, with emphasis on conceptual understanding, clinical relevance, student engagement, and academic development. The faculty member is expected to adopt modern teaching practices, effectively use digital and AI-enabled educational tools, and contribute actively to the academic and institutional activities of JKKN Institutions.
### **Key Responsibilities**
* Deliver engaging and well-structured lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, and practical sessions in **Human Physiology** as per the prescribed curriculum.
* Explain physiological concepts clearly and relate them to **dental, medical, and clinical applications** wherever appropriate.
* Prepare lesson plans, presentations, learning materials, practical activities, assignments, and assessments.
* Use **AI tools and digital learning resources** appropriately to enhance lesson preparation, content development, student engagement, assessment, and academic support.
* Introduce innovative and student-centred teaching approaches such as case-based learning, activity-based learning, discussions, simulations, quizzes, and technology-enabled learning.
* Monitor students' academic progress and provide appropriate mentoring, guidance, and remedial support.
* Conduct and evaluate internal assessments, practical examinations, assignments, seminars, and other academic activities.
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, internal assessment, practical work, student performance, and departmental documentation.
* Encourage students to develop critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, and self-learning skills.
* Participate in curriculum planning, academic reviews, departmental meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences, and examination-related activities.
* Contribute to **research, publications, academic projects, and continuous improvement initiatives** of the department, wherever applicable.
* Collaborate with other departments to promote an integrated understanding of basic sciences and clinical dentistry.
* Support the adoption of **technology-enabled and AI-supported academic practices** while maintaining academic integrity and responsible use of AI.
* Participate actively in institutional events, student development programmes, faculty development initiatives, and other activities of JKKN Institutions.
* Undertake additional academic and institutional responsibilities assigned by the HOD or competent authority.
### **Preferred Qualifications & Competencies**
* Postgraduate qualification in **Physiology / relevant discipline** as prescribed by applicable regulatory and institutional norms.
* Strong subject knowledge with the ability to explain concepts in a simple, clear, and student-friendly manner.
* Good classroom management, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to conduct both theory and practical sessions effectively.
* Willingness to learn and use **AI tools, digital platforms, and modern educational technologies**.
