ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY

The department has a spacious and fully equipped clinical section contains dental chairs attached with micro motors and high vacuum suction drain, micro motor straight hand piece. We also have the separate sterilization room and practicing aseptic treatment procedures. Two emergency kits and oxygen cylinders are always readily available to treat medical emergencies. We also have the latest equipment such as digital blood pressure monitor, pulse oximetry, thermometer, glucometer, Needle destroyer etc.
The minor oral surgery section contains dental chairs with latest technologies and also has air conditioner facility. We are having the recovery room, seminar room, department library for the undergraduate students.

ABOUT THE SPECIALITY:

The department of Oral and Maxillo facial Surgery is dedicated to delivering the high quality minor and major surgical treatments to the public since the beginning of the institution in the year of 1987. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is the one of the major division of dentistry deals with the surgical procedures involving the oral, maxillary and mandibular jaw bones.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a surgical speciality that deals with tooth extraction, minor oral surgical procedures such as impacted tooth removal, incisional and excisional biopsy of the oral lesions, incision and drainage of oro facial infections, wiring placement for simple jaw fractures , and Major oral surgeries which are performed under general anaesthesia includes maxillofacial trauma management, orthognathic (jaw correction) surgeries, major surgeries for pathological lesions ( cyst and tumours etc), cleft surgeries, distraction osteogenesis ( to lengthen the bone using distraction device), treatment for oral cancers etc.

Simple and complicated extractions.
Surgical removal of impacted teeth
Minor Oral Surgical procedures like alveoloplasty, vestibuloplasty, biopsies,scar revisions, local flaps
Major Surgical procedures like cyst enucleations, maxillofacial fracture management, orthognathic surgery, tumour surgery and reconstruction procedures, cleftlip and palate corrective surgeries , temporomandibular joint ankylosis correction, distraction osteogenesis, surgical oncology.
